Freedman Seating and BMW Sponsor Manufacturing Day Test-Drive Event
An exclusive event highlighting power, ingenuity, and sustainability in manufacturing.

Chicago, Illinois – October 7 marks the fifth annual Manufacturing Day when thousands of manufacturers will again host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and community leaders at open houses, plant tours and educational sessions to showcase modern manufacturing technology and the cool jobs available. It is a chance for communities to see the diverse career options that are innovative, impactful and durable.

Manufacturing Day addresses common misperceptions about the industry by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG Day, manufacturers begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.

Participation grows every year. In 2015, over 2,600 live events were held across the U.S. reaching more than 400,000 participants and improving the public’s perception of manufacturing.

Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. Freedman Seating is proud to be a community partner in education and training in manufacturing. We work with great organizations through Chicago and the US, including JARC, Austin College & Career Academy, City Colleges of Chicago, Illinois Manufacturers’ Association, Manufacturing Renaissance, Manufacturing Connect, Technology & Manufacturing Association, and more. As we continue to grow and add jobs, we firmly believe that these efforts will not only benefit us, creating a larger, highly skilled workforce available to hire, they will also ensure that Chicago’s manufacturing industry is perpetually sustainable.

This year, Freedman Seating has partnered with BMW to host an exclusive event highlighting power, ingenuity, and sustainability in manufacturing.
