Section: "Wheelchair Restraint System, Tie down system

All securement belts shall be permanently mounted and retractable.

The following criteria shall be satisfied to be considered an approved equal.

• The wheelchair tie down system shall be equipped with a minimum of four (4) wheelchair restraint securement belts designed to meet all ADA structural requirements and ADA requirement of no more than two (2) inches of movement in any direction
• The wheelchair tie down system can comply with the 30 mph/20g impact as outlined in the Wheelchair Tie-down and Occupant Restraint Systems For Use In Motor Vehicles SAE J2249.
• All wheelchair securement tie-down belts shall be retractable into a protective steel housing reducing the need for belt cleaning. . No storage containers are needed. No loose belts are permitted
