Project/Design Engineer
Freedman Seating, a growing manufacturing firm located in Chicago, has a great opportunity for a project/design engineer. Our Engineering department needs creative professionals to support the new product design process from concept through production launch. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a "hands on" work environment.
We are a bus seat manufacturer and a leader in our industry. Our nearly 600 employees support 50% of the bus building industry with high quality seating. We often customize our product and are consistently expanding our product line.
You will work with our Sales team, CAD group and other engineers. The specific job responsibilities include:

- Design and development of new products

- Assist in evaluation and selection of vendors
- Assist in build and evaluation of prototypes
- Work with members of engineering and manufacturing to assure
successful launch of products
The skills that we would expect you to have include:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred, 2 year associates degree will be considered.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (will have interaction with customers, vendors and other departments)

- Ability to work independently
- 3D CAD exposure (SolidEdge preferred)
It would be helpful if you also had:
- 2D CAD exposure (AutoCAD preferred)
- Experience with seat design and FMVSS standards
- Experience with ERP systems (M2M preferred)
